Our Story
Spare Care was created to bring compassion, reliability, and accountability to the home care industry, a field where many clients often feel neglected or underserved. Our mission is to deliver personalized, high-quality home care services that ensure comfort, dignity, and trust for every individual we serve.
In 2005, our founder, Ava, began her professional journey in healthcare, aspiring to become a registered nurse. However, due to family responsibilities, she pursued a shorter program and earned certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). Over the years, Ava has gained extensive experience working across hospitals, retirement homes, long-term care facilities, and community care programs, while also providing compassionate private home care to clients in need.
Today, Spare Care continues Ava’s vision, delivering trusted, client-focused home care services that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Why We Started
Through years of hands-on experience in home care and healthcare services, Ava began to notice consistent challenges in the industry, including neglect, inconsistent care, poor communication, and a lack of compassion. These were not isolated incidents; they represented a widespread issue affecting countless clients and families across West Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, Milton, Burlington, Georgetown, and Etobicoke.
Ava worked closely with individuals recovering from surgery, living with disabilities, and managing chronic health conditions, and she saw firsthand how quality personalized home care could transform lives.
By 2013, Ava decided it was time to create real change. She began laying the foundation for a client-centered home care agency that would prioritize trust, empathy, and responsiveness for every individual receiving care at home.
After years of dedication, careful planning, and a passion for helping others, Ava officially registered her business in 2019, later naming it Spare Care, a name that reflects her commitment to providing reliable, compassionate home care services to families across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
